Life Coach OR Therapist
What is the difference?
When choosing between a life coach or therapist, it is important to understand what you are needing.
A therapist helps you process your past and understand the reasons for behaviors and emotions. They also help you heal wounds and dig deep into understanding yourself. Therapists assist you in placing the puzzle pieces of your life together. A therapist can also diagnose and manage client treatment.
A life coach supports you in setting, accomplishing, and maintaining goals. A life coach does not and should not do processing or deep trauma work. They should help you focus on the here and now. They help you identify problems and commit to solutions.
If you are having difficulty deciding what you need, it is best to meet with a therapist first. A therapist can help you develop an appropriate treatment plan for your personal needs.
